Tecomet Quality Inspector Mechanical in Wilmington, Massachusetts

POSITION SUMMARY: (Third Shift Position/FT)

This entry level position is responsible for inspecting product to ensure parts meet customer expectations and Tecomet Standard Operating Procedures. Inspections on all finished parts to ensure they meet the established specifications and report any non-conforming parts to supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections on machined parts.

  • Perform in-process and final QC inspections of parts and assemblies by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.

  • Document and communicate any deviations to quality manager and others.

  • Record data on all new procedures performed for new parts.

  • Maintain records according to policy.

  • Review supplier and vendor certifications for accuracy and completeness.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Capacity to learn to use different measurement equipment (Vision Measuring Machine, Comparator, Micrometers, gages, etc.).

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting business priorities.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards.

  • Listening, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret quality standards and work orders; ability to communicate clearly with production team on quality issues.

  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree required.

  • Associates degree or 1 year certificate from college or technical school is preferred.

  • Mechanical gauging, inspection, calibration experience, and blueprint drawing interpretation will be given preference.
